My name is Sarah Taylor, and I am finishing my second year as a doctoral student in the Department of Child, Youth & Family Studies.
I am originally from Minden, Nebraska. Minden is located about two hours west of Lincoln and is a small rural town of about 3,000 people. I have one sister who will be beginning her career as a math teacher at Gretna High School this August. My parents still live in Minden, so we are all able to get together often. We especially enjoy going to K-State football games together.
I am extremely excited for this trip to China. I have had opportunities to travel abroad before, most recently to India last May with the Department of Child, Youth & Family Studies. I have quickly discovered that traveling abroad and learning about different cultures is invaluable. As I have interacted with other students and faculty from China the past 2 years, I have become very interested in experiencing the Chinese culture first-hand.
